last wednesday

last wednesday we were in town for anita's mother's, there was stuff she'd needed to remove from the place, so she and i drove down and removed whatever we could. after we decided to stop by the old open mic at the rumba cafe, and thats where we headed. she and i walked in and found an old man playing acoustic on stage, singing imaculately. the open mic host played a few, then had anita and i go on after the break. i grabbed my blue guitar, she grabbed the music and up we went. it was nice.

birthday performance

last thursday, 2 nights before my 23rd birthday, anita and i accompanied by high school & college acquaintences of mine kirby and curt drove from beavercreek to columbus to perform at the james club 88 at the weekly thursday open mic

we did it for the sake of our visitors, otherwise we've been on hiatus for the past few weeks busy with a number of things.

the performance was in two parts, a three song introduction, and later on in the night, a three or four song followup. the equipment used included the keyboard, guitar and bass, pedal board, and related microphone, as well as the mixer, and laptop to record what songs we could, as well as the house microphone for anita.

the crowd was tepid, being largely comprised of a group of people around a table who seemed quite uninterested in the goings on of the bar so much as they were in the pursuit of drunken sex with their table mates. but none the less after an altercation where one of these table dwellers snapped upa guitar of anita's and began to so strum for his fellow friends, i nabbed it back and caught their attention, and they did so clap for our very next song, the loop pedal recording of the song i made a youtube video for. our two acquaintences made little noise, but took many pictures, and for that we are greatful. on the whole, a rather empty house and wasteful night, but none the less, a performance, by yours truly, The Welsh Assembly.
